Dave Dave played an ancient Hammond in a couple of 70's bands and later met, learned and wrote with some of the visiting "folkies" of the day. In the early 90s, he joined Highland bad boys "COUNTRY, BLUES & BEYOND. The lure of the road was strong and he joined legendary Finnian McGurk’s "PIGSWILL" and travelled countless miles, usually sleeping in an ancient bus. They played everything from Hebridean yacht clubs to huge Scandinavian festivals. Dave met ERIC CLOUGHLEY through THE GERRY COOGAN BAND, in which he played Paul Brady and Van Morrison songs ....luckily when they sacked him for being too like Van Morrison he was taken pity on by STEWART MACPHERSON who introduced him to the REAL highland music circuit ...weddings, clubs, holiday parks, smoky pubs full of disgruntled Rangers supporters & all the rest.... Amongst all of this, Dave supported the likes of ELEANOR McEVOY, HOBOTALK, DODGY, CHARLIE DANIELS BAND(US), JIM HUNTER, SALSA CELTICA, DR STRANGELY STRANGE, ROD CLEMENTS(Lindisfarne), TOM MORTON, BARBARA DICKSON, ANDY WHITE, TIM O'CONNOR, REG MEUROSS and STEVE "Retro" SMITH from "RUTHLESS BLUES." He has also toured with MARTIN STEPHENSON, one of his closest friends, and played on his albums. Martin is helping Dave produce some songs which he hopes to release this winter. "Rhythm n Reel are a fantastic group of lovely, supportive people, musically stunning & personally charming, I'm proud to be in the band and very grateful to them for helping me get back on the rocky road again - hope theres many more miles to travel together."
